Michael McEnery is an Asheville attorney who focuses on state and federal criminal defense. Michael also represents individuals and businesses in a variety of civil litigation and family law matters.
Education and Experience
Michael McEnery earned his undergraduate degree in philosophy from North Carolina State University. After graduating cum laude in 2005, Michael enrolled in the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. He completed his Juris Doctor, cum laude from Campbell in 2009.
While he was studying law at Campbell University, Michael McEnery spent time working as a summer extern for Judge Ann Marie Calabria at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. He also worked as a summer intern for the Office of the Federal Public Defender. In 2009, Michael entered private practice in Raleigh, NC and after a few years, decided to move to Asheville because of his love for the mountains. Michael focuses his practice in Asheville representing clients in criminal and civil matters in both state and federal court.
During his time in law school, Michael served as the Comment Editor for the Campbell Law Review. He also received book awards in both Torts and Constitutional Law and earned a law scholarship for his academic achievement at Campbell. Michael is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the 28th Judicial District Bar.
